High School: A 2003 graduate of Juneau Douglas High School • A two-sport standout in baseball and basketball, lettering all four years in both sports • Selected All-Southeast Conference four times and All-State on three occasions (2001, '02, '03) • Named the 2002 Most Valuable Player for the state of Alaska when he hit .364 • Named to the All-District 8 team by the American Baseball Coaches Association in 2003, hitting .429 with three homers, 11 RBI and 11 stolen bases • Led his baseball team to back-to-back state titles (2002, '03) • Played point guard and shooting guard in basketball • Named to the 2003 Southeast Conference Basketball All-Tournament squad • Earned All-State honorable mention honors in basketball as a senior and was nominated for the McDonald's All-American basketball game • Coached in baseball by his father, Jim Ayers.
