STANFORD, Calif.-- Four Stanford pitchers combined on a four-hitter as No. 11-ranked Stanford (14-7) won its sixth midweek game of the season, following a 5-2 win over visiting San Jose State (19-9) 5-2 on Tuesday evening.

Nick Borg broke up the no hitter in the sixth with a single off of reliever A.J. Vanegas after a perfect fifth. Winner Danny Sandbrink's (2-0) threw the first four no hit innings. Sandbrink walked one after retiring the first nine. The shutout was also lost in the sixth on a one-out fielder's choice to make it 5-1.

Scott Snodgress followed with two shutout innings, allowing another hit to Borg, before Chris Reed finished off the game with two hits and a run.

Stanford pushed across four runs in the third to lead 5-0. An error by third baseman Caleb Natov, one of two on the night, allowed the inning to continue and allowed two more runs to score to make it 5-0. A sacrifice fly and a groundout led to the first two runs, before the error and an RBI double by Stephen Piscotty made it 5-0.

A Brian Ragira, two-out RBI single in the first made it 1-0 after Kenny Diekroeger extended his hit streak to 15 games and put two on, with one out..

NOTES: Ben Clowe, who was playing just his second game in left, tracked down a ball in deep left center, to rob Nick Schulz of extra bases in the second... third baseman Stephen Piscotty dove and snagged an extra base hit in the eighth... Stanford heads back on the road this weekend to play at USC for a three-game series. The Cardinal return home on April 12 to host Pacific...
