Prospective Student-Athletes

General: To be considered a serious candidate for admission the student-athlete’s high school transcript should reflect a rigorous course load – one of the more challenging course loads that is offered at their respective schools. Of accelerated, honors, and advanced placement courses, AP’s are the most desirous.

For Recruited Student-Athletes

This timeline is for student-athletes entering their Junior year in high school. The dates are rough estimates and suggestions but are not specific deadlines.

During your Junior year the student-athletes should take his boards at least two times. The highest of each sections can be used for the student-athletes maximum combined total.

Junior Year

• Sign up and take SAT - strongly suggested at least twice
• Go to Stanford Men’s Gymnastics Web page and fill out recruit questionnaire
• April of Junior year
• Send your high school transcript (or fax it)
• Review application online
• Secure teacher recommendations
• May of Junior year – start work on application
• June of Junior year have teachers review application
• Submit application

Generally all student-athletes that are admitted to Stanford are welcome to try out as a walk-on.

For Non Recruited Student-Athletes

Junior Year

• Sign up and take SAT - strongly suggested at least twice
• Go to Stanford Men’s Gymnastics Web page and fill out recruit questionnaire
• Review the previous years application online

Going into Senior Year of High School

• Send video tape of two competitions and skills or sequences you are training
• Applications are usually available by September
