STANFORD, Calif.
- No. 23 Stanford women's lacrosse opens the 2018 campaign on the road Saturday. The season gets underway at noon PT against Denver.

» Stanford is 18-9 all-time against Denver.
» Last season, Denver won on The Farm, 10-7. The Pioneers jumped out to a 3-0 lead and led wire-to wire. Kelly Myers and Dillon Schoen each had two goals for the Cardinal, while Alex Poplawski had a pair of assists and Allie DaCar had five saves. 
» The Pioneers, who are in their second season in the Big East, went 8-0 at home last season and are 33-6 in Denver the last four seasons.
» Denver is technically ranked No. 26 as the first team among those receiving votes outside of the Top 25. History in the Making» The Cardinal returns its all-time career leader in points in 2018. Kelsey Murray has a 55-game point streak, dating back to March 7, 2014 against Towson, and her 225 career points will look to chip into NCAA record books.
» Murray also has 142 career goals – which places her third all-time in program history and needs only four to become Stanford's all-time leader.
» Murray has also recorded 83 career assists, placing her only six behind claiming the all-time record

Inaugural Pac-12 Season» 2018 marks the first season in Pac-12 history. The conference consists of Cal, Arizona State, USC, Oregon, Cal and the Cardinal. Each team will play each other home and away for a total of 10 conference games. 
» Stanford, which was ranked 23rd in the ILWCA preseason poll, was selected to finish third in the Pac-12 in the conference's first preseason coaches poll.
» The Cardinal has seven games scheduled against teams ranked in the preseason Top 25. 
» Dillon Schoen, Madison O'Leary and Kelsey Murray were selected as team captains. Murray is Stanford's all-time leading scorer, O'Leary is a returning captain, and Schoen has played every game in her career. More info here.

 A Look Back» Stanford finished 12-6 in 2017 and concluded the season in the conference semifinals.
» Stanford averaged 14.94 goals per game and held to 10.6 per contest.
» The Cardinal finished ranked in the top-25 in seven categories in the NCAA: caused turnovers per game (11th), scoring offense (12th), shots per game (12th), shots on goal per game (14th), scoring margin (17th), points per game (18th) and win percentage (24th)
» Senior Kelsey Murray led the team with 57 goals and 30 assists, senior Dillon Schoen led the team in caused turnovers with 28, junior Genesis Lucero led the team in draw controls with 54, and senior goalkeeper Allie DaCar started all 18 games for Stanford in 2017, recording 134 saves and a .428 save percentage. A Look Ahead» Next up, Stanford opens its home slate against No. 2 Stony Brook on Monday, Feb. 19. » The first Pac-12 game in program history is set for March 9 at Colorado.
» The inaugural Pac-12 home game will be on March 17 at 1 p.m. PT against Cal.
