SAN DIEGO - Stanford completed its first regatta of the 2022 spring season with a fifth-place finish in the Jackie Ann Stitt Hungness Trophy competition at the San Diego Crew Classic March 26-27.
The Cardinal kicked off its time in America's Finest City with a third-place finish of 6:47.962 in the preliminary heats, good for a spot in Sunday's Grand Final.
Stanford returned to the water on Sunday and were up against a strong field of competition that included Texas, California, Washington, USC, UCLA, Gonzaga and Oklahoma. The Cardinal finished fifth overall with a time of 7:02.893.
The Cardinal heads back to Stanford for a week off of competition. Stanford next hits the water on April 9-10 for The Knecht Cup in Cherry Hill, N.J.
