TEMPE, Ariz. - Aria Fischer scored a career-high eight goals, including the 200th of her career, as No. 1 Stanford remained unbeaten in a 19-6 rout of No. 15 Arizona State on Sunday afternoon.

Returning from a 15-day layoff, Stanford (15-0, 3-0 MPSF) showed no signs of rust and continued its dominant play during its best start since opening 24-0 in 2011. The Cardinal defeated Arizona State (8-9, 0-2 MPSF) for the second time this season.

Fischer, whose eight goals tied for the second-most in a single game in MPSF history, set the tone early with five scores before halftime. Fischer, who finished with 13 attempts, achieved her most recent milestone at the 6:06 mark of the second period, scoring her 200th career goal and becoming one of seven Cardinal players to reach the mark.

Ryann Neushul added four goals on eight attempts while Katie Lyons chipped in with two goals. Jewel Roemer (3) and Jenna Flynn (2) produced double-digit assist totals as the Cardinal also featured eight different goal scorers.

Stanford raced out to a 7-3 lead after the first period. Tied 2-2, the Cardinal scored five straight goals before Arizona State stopped the momentum with seven seconds left in the quarter.

Fischer then scored the first three goals of the second period, including her 200th career goal to make it 9-3 at the 6:06 mark. Hannah Constandse and Lexi Rowell closed the half with goals.

Stanford's defense continued its strong play, allowing fewer than 10 goals for the 13th time this season while holding its opponent scoreless for at least an eight-minute stretch for the eighth time.

Maya Avital started and played the third three periods, making four saves. Jackie King contributed four stops in the final quarter.

Stanford returns to Avery Aquatic Center on Sunday, April 2, hosting Santa Clara at 12 p.m. in a match that will be televised on Pac-12 Networks.
