WGOLF celebrates 2026 NCAA Regional win

Women's Golf dominates Stanford NCAA Regional

The Card broke its own course team record

Hosting one of the regionals of the NCAA Women’s Golf Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed, Stanford women’s golf secured its spot in the 2026 NCAA Championship by winning the NCAA Stanford Regional. The final round concluded on Wednesday at Stanford Golf Course, with the Cardinal breaking its own women’s course team scoring record in the process.

While the final spots for the NCAA Championship were on the line, four Stanford Cardinal were jockeying for an individual victory. At one point on the back nine, Paula Martín Sampedro, Andrea Revuelta, Kelly Xu, and Meja Örtengren were all within one stroke of each other, with Martín Sampedro sitting atop the leaderboard.

Taking a one-stroke lead onto 18, Revuelta locked it up with an incredible finish. She landed in the bunker after her second shot, but that did not spell disaster. She holed out from the bunker, with an incredible chip-shot that landed in the hole to finish with her second consecutive 65 (-6), finishing at 12-under over the week.

Stanford became the first team in at least the last 20 years to have all five of its golfers in the top ten at an NCAA Regional, per College Golf Data. Other Stanford records on Wednesday include the women’s course scoring record (-42) and the largest margin of victory in program history (38 strokes).

Program falls to Oklahoma State at the Stillwater Regional

After earning the program’s seventh consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament, Stanford Softball’s season came to a close at the Stillwater Regional, falling to hosts No. 15 Oklahoma State 11-5 in the Regional Final.

The Card fell to the Cowgirls twice in the tournament but earned two wins over Princeton to punch their ticket to the Regional Final. Needing two wins over the hosts, Stanford came up short in game 1. However, the Card finishes the year 39-15 overall, setting a new best for conference wins with 18 in the inaugural season at Stanford Softball Stadium.

Baseball closes out regular season

Team splits four games against Bay Area rivals

Closing out the regular season, Stanford baseball split its final week before postseason, posting a 2-2 record in four total games against Bay Area rivals St. Mary’s and Cal.

In a midweek matchup against the Gaels, Stanford wrapped up the home portion of the 2026 slate on Tuesday. The Card scored six runs over the first two innings and eventually held on to defeat Saint Mary’s 7-6 in a nonconference game from Sunken Diamond.

Then, in a thriller against the Golden Bears, freshman Brock Ketelsen threw out the potential game-tying run at the plate for the final out in the bottom of the ninth as Stanford held on to defeat California 7-6 on Thursday.

Ketelsen, who took over as a defensive replacement in the bottom of the eighth, fielded a single off the bat of Carl Schmidt with runners at first and second and delivered a strike to the plate to cut down Hideki Prather for the game’s final out. However, Cal responded with wins in the next two games to take the series.
