THE MATCHUP
Stanford is looking to stay hot as the Cardinal has won four of its last five games heading into today's contest • Stanford has managed the hot stretch thanks to improved pitching and defensive during the run with a 2.47 ERA and a .970 fielding percentage over the last five games that are much better than the team's season numbers of 4.28 and .965 • Ironically, the team's .256 batting average is actually 11 points lower than the .267 overall team batting average the Cardinal has struggled to this season • Sacramento State has put up decent offensive numbers this season with a .287 team batting average but has had a tough time both on the mound (5.13) and in the field (.963)
