MLB Draft / Summer Ball: Drafted in the third round by the Nationals in the 2012 Draft after being drafted in the 38th round of the 2011 draft... pitched for Team USA and Yarmouth-Dennis in the Cape Cod League in the Summer of 2010 ... began the summer with Y-D with fellow pitcher Scott Snodgress and Jordan Pries, going 3-0 with a 3.18 ERA over 22.2 innings and four starts ... struck out 22 and walked eight prior to playing for the Americans ... with Team USA, where he was named a top prospect by Baseball America, he went 2-0 with an 0.82 ERA over four games and three starts ... struck out eight and walked two over 11.0 innings with a .158 opponent batting average.

Stanford Career: Three-year weekend starter went 16-16 in his career over 237.2 innings with 261 career strikeouts and 155 career walks.

As a junior in 2012: In his third season on the mound, went 7-6 with a 4.75 ERA over 15 starts and 83.1 innings... struck out 90 and walked 39 with 79 hits given up. Opponents hit .251 against him... finished the regular season fourth in the Pac-12 in strikeouts... struck out at least seven in nine starts... started season 5-0 with a 2.12 ERA after his first five starts, picking up an eight-strikeout, five-hit 6.0 inning win over No. 10 Vanderbilt (2/18) followed by 8.0 innings over No. 7 Texas, when he struck out seven and had five shutout innings before giving up a single run... one of best games of career came at Fresno State, an hour from his hometown, tying a career-high with 13 strikeouts, pitching a no-hitter until two outs in the sixth (a bunt single). Retired 10 in a row until two walks in the fifth and gave up only hits in sixth. Struck out the side to finish his day at Fresno State (3/3).... followed that up with 6.0 innings against No. 4 Rice (3/10) when he gave up three runs on six hits and struck out nine to win the series. Finished off his streak with a 7.0 inning win over USC (3/25) when he struck out nine again to sweep the doubleheader with the Trojans with one run on six hits... then three-straight starts at midseason gave up 10 ER over 17.0 IP against Arizona (3/31), Washington (4/6) and Oregon (4/14)... did not win again until May 13 against Washington State, when he pitched 7.0 shutout innings and five hits. Followed that up with his seventh win, at Utah when he went 8.1 innings, striking out 10 and giving up a single run on four hits.... finished his career by giving up 16 earned runs over three starts and 7.0 innings with an 0-2 record.

As a junior in 2011: Missed the 2011 season after slicing his left middle finger on a can of beans in January, 2011.

As a Sophomore in 2010: One of the team's weekend starters for the second-straight year going 3-7 with a 5.07 ERA over 17 starts with one complete game ... pitched 87.0 innings with 76 hits, striking out a team-best 99 with 62 walks ... opponents hit .243 against him ... after a 7.82 ERA over his first seven starts, finished the year by lowering his ERA by nearly two and half runs by reaching the sixth inning in eight of his last nine starts ... ERA likely would have been under 5.00 if not for six runs in 5.1 innings in an elimination start at CS Fullerton in the season finale and NCAA Regional ... entered the post season following a loss to Arizona State despite three runs on eight hits and seven strikeouts over 7.0 innings ... won for the second time in three starts at No. 26-ranked Arizona (5/21) giving up a single run on eight hits over 7.2 innings ... had a 2-1 record and 3.18 ERA over five starts from April 10 to May 7, striking out 42 with 21 walks ... struck out nine over six innings in a win at Long Beach State (5/7) ... struck out a career-best 13, retiring the last eight in a row (the first seven by strikeouts) in a loss at Washington despite giving up four runs (two earned) on four hits in a complete game 8.0 inning start ... had a no decision against No. 15 Cal despite striking out 10 and retiring 15 of 17 batters, including streaks of six and eight in a row in game won in the ninth ... best start of the season was against Oregon (4/10), as he pitched eight shutout innings, giving up one run on five hits with seven strikeouts over 8.0 innings, as a single run came across in the ninth ... After an 8.82 ERA over his first five starts, against USC (3/28), struck out seven over six innings in no-decision, giving up one run on three hits.

As a Freshman in 2009: Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American ... became the first Cardinal starter to receive that honor since fellow left-hander Mark Romanczuk in 2003 ... also garnered honorable mention All-Pac-10 status after going 6-3 with a 4.14 ERA over 67.1 innings and one complete game in 13 games (11 starts) ... compiled 72 strikeouts, while holding opposing batters to a paltry .204 average (46-for-226) ... was among the nation's toughest pitchers to hit, ranking sixth among all NCAA Division I hurlers by yielding an average of just 6.5 hits per 9.0 innings ... also finished 77th with an average of 9.63 strikeouts per 9.0 frames ... High School: Graduated in 2008 from Buhach Colony High School in Atwater, Calif. ... helped his club to four consecutive league championships, as Buhach captured the Valley Oak League title in 2005 and 2006 before winning Division I Central California Conference crowns in both 2007 and 2008 ... earned first-team all-league honors as a utility player in 2008, leading Buhach to the Sac Joaquin Section Division I championship series both on the mound and at the plate ... as a pitcher, he finished his senior season with a 9-2 record, 0.97 ERA, .116 opponents batting average and an astounding 103 strikeouts in just 58 innings ... with the bat, he hit .379 and led his team with five home runs and 35 RBIs ... was named the Modesto Bee's 2008 High School Player of the Year ... earned first-team all-league accolades as an outfielder in 2007, while he was tabbed the 2006 Valley Oak League Pitcher of the Year ... was also a two-year letterwinner in both football and basketball ... coached in baseball by Wayne Fitzgerald.

Personal Information: Son of Bill and Sandra Mooneyham ... has one sister, Leah, and one brother, Logan ... father, Bill, was a first round pick of the California Angels in 1980, and pitched professionally for nine years in the Angels, Milwaukee Brewers and Oakland Athletics organizations ... spent the 1986 season in the majors with Oakland, making 45 appearances (six starts) ... majoring in history.
