Hernandez-Ojeda spent two seasons on the Stanford men's gymnastics coaching staff after arriving on The Farm in September 2024.
Following a national runner-up effort in 2025, Hernandez-Ojeda helped lead Stanford its sixth crown in seven years in 2026, leading wire-to-wire with a score of 329.825 to edge runner-up Oklahoma's 328.495. The Cardinal's first NCAA title of the 2025-26 campaign carried added significance, extending the most recognizable streak in college athletics with Stanford winning at least one NCAA team championship for 50 straight years.Â
Under Hernandez-Ojeda's guidance, Jun Iwai (vault) and Cooper Kim (floor exercise) won national titles in their first NCAA Championship appearances, leading a group of six All-Americans that includes Zach Green, Asher Hong, Nick Kuebler, and David Shamah.
Hernandez-Ojeda, a 2022 graduate at Texas A&M, and member of the Aggies' NAIGC gymnastics program, arrives on The Farm after serving a ninth-month stint as Men's Gymnastics Program Director at Extreme Texas Gymnastics.Â
Before his time there, Hernandez-Ojeda traveled the world in two different three-month stints on an international coaching expedition, learning elite gymnastics development from world-renowned coaches, judges, and athletes.Â
Hernandez-Ojeda also spent time as an assistant coach in Cypress Academy, working closely with former Stanford gymnasts Brody Malone, Akash Modi, and Brandon Briones in their USA gymnastics preparations.Â
