Soukup enters his third season on the Stanford men's gymnastics coaching staff after arriving on The Farm in September 2024.
Following a national runner-up effort in 2025, Soukup helped lead Stanford its sixth crown in seven years in 2026, leading wire-to-wire with a score of 329.825 to edge runner-up Oklahoma's 328.495. The Cardinal's first NCAA title of the 2025-26 campaign carried added significance, extending the most recognizable streak in college athletics with Stanford winning at least one NCAA team championship for 50 straight years.Â
Under Soukup's guidance, Jun Iwai (vault) and Cooper Kim (floor exercise) won national titles in their first NCAA Championship appearances, leading a group of six All-Americans that includes Zach Green, Asher Hong, Nick Kuebler, and David Shamah.
A 2017 graduate from the Minnesota men's gymnastics program, Soukup joins the Stanford staff after serving in various coaching roles at the club level for the season seven years.Â
The San Antonio, Texas native most recently spent time as a Competitive Team Coach at Omega Gymnastics (2022-24) in Beaverton, Oregon. Soukup's previous stops also include Alamo Gymnastics (2019-22) in San Antonio, Texas, and Classic Gymnastics (2017-19) in Chanhassen, Minnesota.Â
During his time at Minnesota, the Golden Gophers finished in the top ten at the NCAA Championships in each of Soukup's four seasons on the roster (2014-17), including a fifth-place finish in 2017. A still rings specialist, Soukup was a 2017 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree and a three-time letterwinner from 2015-17.Â
