STANFORD
Despite Saturday's loss, Stanford still leads the all-time series versus Washington State, 32-24-1, and has won two out of the last three meetings.

Aaron Zagory's 34-yard field goal with 8:40 remaining in the third quarter matched the longest field goal of his career that he previously set at Oregon on September 2, 2006.

The 25-yard touchdown reception by Kelton Lynn with 10:47 remaining in the fourth quarter was the first touchdown reception of his collegiate career.

Trent Edwards moved up one spot into sixth on the school's all-time completions (468) and pass attempts (829) lists, while remaining seventh all-time at Stanford in touchdown passes (36), total offense (5477) and total passing yards (5244).

Stanford won the turnover battle for the first time this season, recovering three Washington State fumbles while committing two turnovers (one fumble, one interception) ... The three fumbles recovered by the Cardinal today matched the total recovered in the first three games of the season combined.

Michael Okwo had a career-high 15 tackles, the most by a Stanford player this season.

The 195 total yards by Stanford was the lowest offensive output by the Cardinal this season.

Stanford's 0-4 start this year is the Cardinal's first 0-4 start since the 1987 season when Stanford dropped four in a row to begin the campaign ... Stanford has not dropped more than four in a row to begin the year since 1983 when the Cardinal began 0-6.

Anthony Kimble's 48 receiving yards tied a career-high.

Udeme Udofia (9), Wopamo Osaisai (8) and Chris Horn (6) all had career-high tackles, while Tim Sims (6) equaled the best total of his career.

Chris Horn recorded the team's first solo sack of the season.

Jay Ottovegio had a punt blocked for the first time in his career.

Charlie Hazlehurst and Tavita Pritchard and Nate Wilcox-Fogel all made their Stanford debuts.

WASHINGTON STATE
Washington State has recorded a touchdown drive of 80 or more yards in 18 straight games ... During the span, the Cougars have had 24 touchdown drives of 80-89 yards and seven of 90 or more yards ... The last time WSU did not have a touchdown drive of 80 or more yards was during a 42-12 loss to No. 1 USC in Pullman (10/30/04).

The first quarter safety by Washington State was the first recorded by the Cougars since an Oregon State punt snap sailed out of the end zone at Corvallis (10/23/04).

Mkristo Bruce's five sacks of Trent Edwards is a WSU single-game record ... It also gives him 25.5 for his career, third on WSU's career list ... Bruce also ties Keith Millard and DeWayne Patterson for the single-game record in tackles-for-loss (5).

WSU's seven sacks were the most by a Cougar defense since collecting seven against Grambling State last season (9/17/05).

Michael Graise's 33-yard interception return for a touchdown was the first by a Cougar defender since Eric Frampton's 36-yard interception return at Nevada (9/9/05) ... It also marked the third interception this season by a defensive lineman.

WSU's two defensive scores today marked the first time since the 2003 Holiday Bowl win over Texas that the Cougar defense accounted for two scores.

Jason Hill's blocked punt in the second quarter was the first by the Cougars since Omawale Dada's block at New Mexico (9/3/04).

The 22-0 lead at halftime was the first time the WSU defense held an opponent scoreless in a half since leading 24-0 against Grambling State last season (9/17/05).

Jed Collins' two-yard touchdown reception was the first touchdown of his career.

Cody Boyd tied his career-high in catches (5) and set his career-best in yards (72).

Jason Hill's first quarter reception extended his consecutive games streak with at least one catch to 25 ... His third-quarter touchdown reception was the 28th of his career, extending his school record.

WSU limited Stanford to two yards of total offense in the first quarter and held a 13:21 to 1:39 advantage in time of possession.

Washington State opened conference play on the road for the fifth straight season, going 4-1 in those contests ... Last season's loss at Oregon State broke a four-game winning streak in Pac-10 openers.

Washington State moved to 1-3 when opening Pac-10 play against Stanford ... Previously, WSU had lost 44-7 in 1987 at home, 54-17 at Stanford in 1999 and 24-10 at Martin Stadium in 2000.

The 25 points given up by the Cougars the last two weeks are the fewest yielded in back-to-back outings since 21 against Arizona (7) and Stanford (14) in 2003.
