WEST WINDSON, N.J. – Stanford lightweight rowing kicked off the Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships with second and fourth place finishes in the race for lanes portion of the competition on Saturday.
The varsity four crew opened the morning with a fourth place finish at 8:14.712, getting the edge over Wisconsin by almost two seconds.
Stanford's varsity eight boat took second behind Princeton at 7:16.531, earning it the second best position in the Grand Final that will take place tomorrow.
The Cardinal will compete in the Grand Finals tomorrow at 5:10 and 7:00 a.m. PT to compete for the national championship.
