No. 2 Women's Lacrosse Earns Ranked Win over Notre Dame

Stanford's first quarter barrage solidifies perfect 9-0 start

A blistering start mixed with timely free-position scoring proved the difference on Saturday evening as the No. 2 Stanford women’s lacrosse team continued its undefeated start to the season, dispatching No. 11/12 Notre Dame from Cagan Stadium, 17-11. With the win, Stanford posts its best start to a season in a non-COVID affected season all-time with nine-straight victories to open the campaign.

Stanford (9-0, 6-0 ACC) dominated the early going with a trademark start: turning defense into offense. Having lost the opening draw control, the Cardinal defense earned its first caused turnover of the day with Rylee Bouvier’s 18th caused turnover of the season giving Stanford a rush chance. In transition, Martha Oakey wired a pass to Aliya Polisky who opened the scoring for Stanford just 96 seconds into the contest.

Men's Swimming & Diving Advance Two to NCAAs

Grubbs and Andriyuk land top finishes in Flagstaff

Stanford sent three divers to the 2026 NCAA Zone E Championships, hosted by Northern Arizona University, taking place from March 9-11. It was a strong week for the Card, resulting in high scores and a pair of divers advancing to the NCAA Championship in five events.

Misha Andriyuk is the only current Cardinal diver with any NCAA Zone E experience, competing in and winning the platform dive last year as a freshman. He did not win in 2026, but he finished second, more than enough to secure a spot in Atlanta for the NCAA Championship. His cumulative score over 12 dives was 747.85, including a 398.00 in the finals, where he put himself in contention for the win.

Andriyuk also qualified for the NCAA Championship on the springboard in 3-meter, his first qualification on the springboard. He placed sixth with a 12-dive total of 706.00, including a 368.80 in the prelims. His final dive is what vaulted him to the NCAAs, leading the pack with a Forward 4 ½ Somersault Tuck that scored 77.90.

Gunnar Grubbs is advancing to Atlanta and will dive in all three championship events: 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform. He first qualified in the 3-meter finals on Monday night with a 373.35 in the finals, finishing in the top-four in three of the six rounds. His fourth dive was his best, finishing first in the round with a Back 2 ½ Somersault Pike, scoring 66.00 points.
