STANFORD, Calif. - Rematch Weekend. No. 16 Stanford lacrosse will hit the road over Spring Break to take on the same two teams it just hosted. The Cardinal brings a four-game winning streak to Tempe to face Arizona State on Friday at 5 p.m. PT, and on Sunday in Los Angeles, Stanford and No. 15 USC will play their second Top 25 matchup in a week.

Matchups

Arizona State (6-6, 1-4 Pac-12) | Statistics
» Arizona State is in its first season as a varsity program.
» The Sun Devils won the program's first two games and five of its first six. 
» Stanford won the first-ever matchup with the Sun Devils, 17-7 (full recap).
» ASU won its first-ever Pac-12 game at Cal on Sunday, 12-11.

No. 15 USC (6-4, 4-1 Pac-12) | Statistics
» USC has played one of the toughest schedules among Pac-12 teams this year. The Trojans have visited ranked foes in Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and Northwestern. USC also had one common non-conference opponent with the Cardinal -- both teams lost to No. 1 Stony Brook. 
» The Trojans have played four overtime games this year (2-2), including three of the last four. They fell to Boston College, 13-12, but defeated Colorado and Oregon in extra time in Los Angeles.
» USC's latest overtime game was at Cagan Stadium as the Cardinal rallied from four down in regulation, and won in sudden death, 12-11, to hand the Trojans their first conference loss of the season (full recap).
» USC leads the all-time series with Stanford, 5-4. The Trojans had won four straight in the series dating back to 2015 before the Cardinal comeback on Sunday.

All-time Leader

» Graduate senior Kelsey Murray has set four school records this season.
» Murray became Stanford's all-time leading scorer with her 146th career goal against Harvard on Feb. 23 at Cagan Stadium. Murray's first tally of the game was the record-setter -- a free position goal at the 23:05 mark to give the Cardinal a 6-1 lead. Murray, who has now scored 168 times in a Cardinal uniform, surpassed Sarah Flynn (2008-11).
» Murray became Stanford's all-time career assists leader on March 2 at Duke. She recorded the 89th of her career to surpass Claire Hubbard (2007-10). On March 11 at Oregon, she became the first player in school history with 100 career assists.
» Murray set two school records on March 4. She became the first player in program history with 10 points in a game (five goals, five assists) and tied the school mark for assists in a game. 
» Murray also holds the school record with 273 career points, including a team-high 48 (26 goals, 22 assists) this season.
» Murray has an active 65-game point streak, dating back to March 7, 2014 against Towson.

Offensive Outburst

» Stanford boasts one of the top offenses in the nation, ranking third in the nation with 22.90 points per game and fourth in the country in assists (7.30). Overall, Stanford is sixth in the country in scoring offense (15.60 goals per game). The Cardinal leads the Pac-12 in each category. 
» Kelsey Murray, who ranks 10th in the nation in points (48), ranks atop the Pac-12 in assists, points per game and shot percentage, and is second in the league in total points.
» Stanford's league-best 22.90 points per game is nearly four points higher than Colorado, which ranks second with 19.20 points per game. 
» The Cardinal also has a conference-best .448 shooting percentage. 
» Stanford has more possessions than most. The Cardinal ranks 11th in the nation and leads the Pac-12 with 15.80 draw controls per game. Julia Massara and Genesis Lucero lead the Cardinal with 42 draw controls apiece. 

 


Awards Season

» Senior Kelsey Murray and freshman Ali Baiocco were each named to the watch list for the Tewaaraton Award, given annually to the nation's top men's and women's lacrosse player.
» Murray and senior goalkeeper Allie DaCar became the first duo from the same team to sweep the Pac-12 weekly awards. Murray was the conference's Offensive Player of the Week, and DaCar earned Defensive Player of the Week honors on March 5. DaCar is Stanford's first two-time Pac-12 award winner as she earned the same honor on March 26.
» Freshman Galen Lew completed another Pac-12 weekly awards sweep with DaCar on March 26 as she garnered Offensive Player of the Week accolades after a nine-point weekend that included a sudden victory overtime winner against No. 13 USC.


Inaugural Pac-12 Season

» 2018 marks the first season in Pac-12 history. The conference consists of Cal, Arizona State, USC, Oregon, Cal and the Cardinal. Each team will play each other home and away for a total of 10 conference games. 
» At the midway point of the conference season, there is a three-way tie atop the standings as Colorado, USC and Stanford all sit at 4-1.
» Stanford played in the first-ever Pac-12 game at Colorado on March 9. Sophomore Daniella McMahon won the conference's opening draw control, but the No. 18 Cardinal lost a seven-goal lead and fell to the 19th-ranked Buffaloes, 18-16.
» In the first-ever Pac-12 game at Cagan Stadium, Stanford knocked off arch rival Cal, 21-5, on March 17.
» Stanford, which has been ranked in the IWLCA Top 25 each week this season, was selected to finish third in the Pac-12 in the conference's first preseason coaches poll. The Cardinal has seven games scheduled against teams ranked in the preseason Top 25, and is 2-3 against Top 25 opposition so far this year.
» Dillon Schoen, Madison O'Leary and Kelsey Murray were selected as team captains. Murray is Stanford's all-time leading scorer, O'Leary is a returning captain, and Schoen has played every game in her career. More info here.


On the Road Again

» The women of Stanford lacrosse had quite the 11-day adventure. From March 1-11, the team traveled more than 7,700 miles, spent time in five different airports and hit 10 different cities for its road games at No. 15 Duke, Elon, No. 19 Colorado and Oregon. 
» The team also lost an hour due to daylight savings time on this trip.
» Stanford flew in and out of airports in San Francisco, Raleigh, San Jose, Denver and Portland.  
» In addition to the airports, the Cardinal also took the team bus to Durham, Elon, Boulder, Eugene and Palo Alto. 
» In all, Stanford logged 7,317 miles in the air and 462 miles on the bus. 
» Stanford went 3-1 on the road trip. All three wins came by double digits and the only loss was to the 19th-ranked Buffaloes, 18-16.

» On Sunday, freshman Galen Lew scored a short-handed game-winner in sudden victory overtime to lift the Cardinal over No. 13 USC, 12-11, at Cagan Stadium. Stanford rallied from a four-goal deficit in the final 13 minutes. A full recap and highlights are here.

A Look Ahead

» Stanford goes out-of-conference for the last time this season. The Cardinal welcome UC Davis and Fresno State to The Farm -- a midweek matchup with the Aggies on Thursday at 6 p.m. PT and a Sunday matinee at noon.
