Midwest Invite Sweep

No. 2 Stanford remained perfect through its first six games, dominating a pair of matches on the opening day of competition at the Midwest Invite.

Both games followed a familiar script this season, in which Stanford (6-0, 0-0 MPSF) has produced impressive offensive balance and stingy defensive efforts. The Cardinal extended its streaks of having scored at least 12 goals while allowing eight scores or fewer in every game this season.

No. 2 Stanford completed a sweep of its three matches at the Midwest Invite, capping the weekend with a 14-8 victory over No. 16 Michigan on Sunday morning.

Ryann Neushul led the way with four goals on five shot attempts while also distributing three assists. Neushul, who finished the tournament with seven goals and leads the team with 17 overall, increased her career total to 185 and moved past Annika Dries (183) for ninth in program history.
