Runner-Up finish for Women's Swimming and Diving at NCAA Championships

Program collected six Individual National Titles in Atlanta

It was NCAA Championships week for No. 2 Stanford Women’s Swimming and Diving, and the Card finished as National Runner-Ups, bringing home six individual National Titles.

Torri Huske headlined the week, collecting three National Titles in her final competition for the Cardinal. Huske opened the evening by winning the 100 butterfly national title before winning the 50 Free on Friday. On the final night of the competition, Huske shattered the 100 free program record with a 45.17 to win her third national title of the meet. 

Lucy Bell collected two National Titles, defending her 200 breaststroke national title by clocking a lifetime-best 2:02.38 to repeat as champion and posting a lifetime-best 1:52.09 to become the NCAA champion in the 200 IM in the final individual swim of her career. 

At the diving tower, Ellie Cole turned in a historic platform performance, setting an NCAA meet record with a score of 399.80 to become Stanford’s first diving national champion in a decade. After four days of competition, Stanford finished with 380.5 points, trailing only NCAA champion Virginia.

Aden Valencia Wins National Title

Stanford Wrestling finishes sixth at NCAA Championships

No. 14 Stanford Wrestling wrapped up its season, competing in the National Championships in Cleveland. Stanford produced four All-Americans in Cleveland and finished sixth as a team with 67.5 points - all of which are program records.

Highlighting the weekend was redshirt freshman Aden Valencia who captured the 149-pound title in overtime on Saturday, at Rocket Arena. Valencia is the third individual national champion in program history, joining Matt Gentry (2004) and Shane Griffith (2021). The Morgan Hill native is the first Cardinal freshman to win an NCAA crown, upsetting the No. 1 seed Shayne Van Ness of Penn State.

Joining Valencia on the podium was two-time All-American Tyler Knox (133), redshirt junior Nico Provo (125) and true freshman Angelo Posada (197).It is the sixth time in the past seven seasons Stanford has produced multiple All-Americans in the same season and the 12th time overall.

Anna Roberts named ACC Gymnast of the Year

After claiming the regular season title in the ACC, No. 7 Stanford finished as the ACC championship runner-up, rebounding from a difficult first rotation to fall by just 0.025 to No. 15 Clemson Saturday night in First Horizon Coliseum.

Stanford took home two event crowns, as juniors Temple Landry and Sienna Robinson shared the beam title with 9.925, and freshman Ana Bărbosu won the floor championship with 9.950.

After the meet, senior Anna Roberts was named ACC Gymnast of the Year, Robinson was honored as the conference’s Specialist of the Year, and Rodgers Family Director of Gymnastics Tabitha Yim was awarded ACC Coach of the Year.

Cardinal wins all three games against North Carolina

On the road in Chapel Hill, No. 19 Stanford Softball swept North Carolina on the back of an explosive offensive performance, scoring 30 runs across the three games.

In Game 1, the Cardinal slugged nine extra-base hits in a 9-2 win, including four home runs. In Game 2,  Taryn Kern led the way with a 4-for-4 afternoon, homering for the second game in a row en route to a 6-2 win. Zoe Prystajko earned the win thanks to 2.2 one-hit innings of relief, striking out four and issuing a pair of walks in the scoreless outing.

Game 3 was a wild one, featuring five lead changes and 27 combined runs scored, but Stanford secured the series sweep with timely hitting across the board.The Cardinal finished the game with nine runs driven in with two out, going 9-16 with two outs and 8-for-14 with runners in scoring position.

Baseball secures weekend sweep

Team wins three games against Utah Valley

In Game 1 against Utah Valley, Stanford trailed 3-2 headed to the bottom of the ninth on Saturday from Sunken Diamond. The Cardinal tied the game on an RBI-double from Luke Lavin before sophomore Rintaro Sasaki delivered a walk-off single with the bases loaded to hand the Cardinal a 4-3 win over visiting Utah Valley.

In a double header the following day, the Cardinal offense scored 32 runs on 30 hits across a pair of games on Sunday, sweeping a doubleheader over visiting Utah Valley to clinch a series win over the Wolverines in a four-game set that will conclude on Monday.The Cardinal defeated Utah Valley 17-10 and 15-9 to improve to 10-12 on the season.

Sailing Finishes Top-3 in Three Competiions

Prgram wins the PCCSC South Designate

Another full weekend of competition for Stanford sailing resulted in three more top-two finishes, including a win at the PCCSC South Designate. The three results bring the Card to 30 top-three finishes on the season, in just 33 tries. The PCCSC win was also the team’s 19th first-place finish of the season, and 10th in 12 spring races.

The Szambecki Team Race saw the Card finish just shy of a victory, going 9-4 to trail Georgetown’s 10-3 record. Ellie Harned, Piper Blackband, Freddie Parkin, Amiya Stroumza, Dylan Sih and Kate Myles all competed for the Cardinal.

Rounding out the weekend’s competition was the Friis Trophy, hosted by Harvard. The Card went 14-5 to finish second, just behind the hosting Crimson at 17-2. Stanford was represented by Lucas Woodworth, Abby Baird, Vanessa Lahrkamp, Alice Schmid, Reade Decker and Callie Hammond.

Women's Team finishes 10th while the Men finish 15th

Stanford fencing wrapped up the 2025-26 season this weekend at the NCAA Championships, with a pair of student-athletes earning All-America honors. 

The women’s team finished 10th in the country, while the men’s squad finished 15th. Arianna Cao took home All-America Honorable Mention honors in women’s foil, while Sanjay Kasi earned All-America Honorable Mention honors in men’s foil.

Cao, the reigning ACC women’s foil champion, went 13-6 over two days to finish ninth. The junior, competing in NCAAs for the third-straight year, ends the season with a 70-21 record in individual bouts. On the men’s side, Kasi led the way with a 12th-place finish is the foil competition. The senior went 11-12 to earn his first career All-America nod in his third trip to the NCAA Championships. Freshman Julian Goor finished 21st in foil, going 8-15.

Women's Basketball advances to Quarterfinals of WBIT

Stanford defetas LMU and Quinnipiac in the first two rounds

Competing in the WBIT, Stanford Women’s Basketball tallied two wins in the first two rounds of the tournament, topping LMU and Quinnipiac to move into the quarterfinals round. 

In Round 1 against LMU, Nunu Agara had 26 points and 16 rebounds and Stanford secured its 20th win of the season with an 80-76 victory.Agara scored her 26 on 10-of-16 shooting and became the program’s 47th 1,000-point scorer when she put back an offensive rebound with 1:45 to go in the fourth quarter. She finished the game with 1,005 career points. Agara’s 16 rebounds tied a career high.

In Round 2, Six players scored in double figures and Stanford beat visiting Quinnipiac 81-69. Alexandra Eschmeyer scored a career-high 18 for the Cardinal on 6-of-7 shooting, including a pair of 3-pointers. Clardy also had 18 and a game-high four steals. Nunu Agara had 13 points and eight rebounds, Hailee Swain had 10 points and seven boards and Ogden scored 10. Mary Ashley Stevenson had 10 points and nine rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench.

Track and Field begins outdoor season

Team collects three event wins and a new Stanford Top-10 Mark

 Stanford track & field got its outdoor season started at the Cal Invitational this weekend, securing three event wins and a new Stanford Top 10 mark at Edwards Stadium. 

Tess Stapleton made her 400-meter hurdles career debut in impressive fashion, winning the event with a 58.66 mark to become the fifth-best performer in program in the event. Stapleton's finish led a 1-2-3 finish for the Cardinal.

Ryce Reynolds completed the 400m hurdles sweep on the men's side, coming across the line at 52.58 to pace the field. Emma Sralla collected a victory in her season debut, winning the women's discus throw with a 51.18m (167' 11") throw.

Women's Tennis Collects Two Road Wins

Cardinal defeats Syracuse and Boston College

No. 33 Stanford started its extended ACC road trip with a 4-2 win at Syracuse on Friday afternoon. The Cardinal, beginning a 10-day conference swing through Syracuse, Boston College, Notre Dame and Louisville, snapped a two-match losing streak and picked up its first victory since Feb. 27 against Wake Forest.

On Sunday morning, Sein Myoung clinched on court five and No. 33 Stanford beat Boston College 4-3. The Cardinal was forced to come from behind after dropping the doubles point.

Women's Lacrosse Downs Arizona State

Team starts 10-0 for just second time in program history

Ella Morton’s first collegiate win highlighted a successful end to the season-long homestand as the No. 2 Stanford women’s lacrosse team downed Arizona State on Saturday, 14-8. With the win, Stanford moves to 10-0 for only the second time in program history. 

Looking to seal the win, Morton showed her poise in the final frame, allowing just two goals on nine shots faced while tabbing six saves to her account to close out the visitors. 

Morton and the Stanford defense held firm, forcing three Sun Devil turnovers while Jordyn Case and Annabel Frist scored to put the finishing touches on an eventual win.

Men's Tennis Defeats Louisville

No. 23 Cardinal Down the Cardinals 4-1

After a 4-2 loss to Notre Dame on Friday,  No. 23 Stanford men’s tennis capped its weekend on the road in winning fashion, defeating No. 50 Louisville, 4-1. Stanford improves to 12-6 overall and 5-3 in the ACC.

Stanford earned the doubles point with wins on the top two courts. Then, needing three matches to clinch the result, the Cardinal took five first sets to begin singles. Stanford collected victories in quick succession from Alex Razeghi on court two and Jagger Leach on court six, each by a 6-3, 7-5 scoreline. Rivera clinched the win on court five, 6-1, 7-6 (6), for his second clinching point of the season.
