Men's Gymnastics Wins National Championship

Stanford has won six NCAA TItles in seven years

In the final rotation on rings, Nicolas Kuebler scored 14.166 and Asher Hong sealed it with a 14.300, the second and third best scores on the apparatus all night.

The Cardinal led wire-to-wire, including a season-best 56.432 on parallel bars, and hit 24-of-24 routines to reach the department milestone. In their first NCAA meets, Cooper Kim and Jun Iwai won individual national titles - Kim on floor (14.466) and Iwai on vault (14.433).

This is the 11th NCAA men's gymnastics championship in school history and Stanford has won all but one title since 2019 (there was no NCAA championship in 2020). The Cardinal’s other trophies came in 1992, 1993, 1995, 2009, 2011, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

50 straight years of champions

Thanks to Stanford’s wire-to-wire victory at the NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championship on Saturday night, the Cardinal extended one of the most recognizable streaks in the history of collegiate athletics.

Stanford has now captured at least one NCAA team championship for 50 consecutive years, a jaw-dropping streak that dates back to the 1976-77 campaign. The Cardinal has won 126 of its 138 overall NCAA team titles during the 50-year streak. Never an off-year. Never a near-miss. Never a doubt.

At least one NCAA trophy has found its way back to The Farm every season for five decades, beginning on Nov. 28, 1976, when the men’s water polo program defeated UCLA 13-12 before a packed NCAA final at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach, California.

Stanford’s championship dominance and unprecedented longevity are even more impressive when compared to its peers. The nation’s all-time leader in NCAA team championships (138), Stanford remains comfortably ahead of UCLA (126), USC (115), Texas (65) and Penn State (56) to round out the top-five Division I collegiate programs.

Perhaps even more remarkable, the country’s next longest active NCAA title streak belongs to North Carolina … with 7.

Paula Martín Sampedro wins individual ACC title

A dominant performance from start to finish for top-seeded Stanford women’s golf resulted in an ACC conference championship, defeating second-seeded SMU 3-0 in the match play finals for Stanford’s first conference title in the ACC. The Cardinal got off to a dizzying start in the championship against SMU with all five golfers in its lineup winning the opening hole to take 1up leads. From there, Stanford only trailed at one point in one match, and that only lasted for one hole.

This also marks the first time in program history that Stanford won a conference championship and had an individual conference champion in the same season as Paula Martín Sampedro became the 2026 ACC individual champion on Friday afternoon, tying the conference scoring record of -14 by shooting 202.
